  • This certification course teaches teens in grades 10-12th how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental disorders and substance use disorders among their friends. The training gives teens the skills to have supportive conversations with their friends and get a responsible and trusted adult to take over as necessary. It is designed to be delivered in schools or community sites in three 90-minute or six 45-minute interactive classroom sessions.

  • This 6.5-hour certification course teaches adults (18+) to focus on recognizing the patterns of thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and appearance within youth; and show there might be a problem related to a mental health and substance use challenges rather than focusing on specific illness. Participants are taught the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan (ALGEE) that they can apply to non-crisis and crisis scenarios.
